They are known for their hunting skills and high intelligence, which, combined with their unique looks, has made them a favourite among sea lovers.

How to Draw An Orca
Step 1
To start this guide on how to draw a killer whale, let’s start with the head and the mouth. First, use a long curved line for the top of the head and the beginning of the back for the orca.
Next, we bring in some straighter lines for the mouth. Next, you can draw the other side of the inside of the mouth.
The mouth might look bare for now, but we’ll edit that later to Draw An Orca!
Then complete this step by tautening the base of the head with another curved stripe.
Step 2
For this next step in your drawing of the orca, we will draw the fins and fins for the orca.
First draw a curved line with a bevelled point at the bottom for the first fin, near the bottom of the head. Then use another curved stripe for the different fin following it.
Next, we draw the killer whale’s dorsal fin. This is drawn on the back with another curved line with a rounded tip.
The tip of this fin is slightly sharper than fins but still slightly rounded. After drawing all these aspects, we can move on to the next part!
Step 3
Our third step in this guide to drawing a killer whale is to complete the outline of this creature. First, we draw two long curved lines.
The first extends from the base of the dorsal fin, and the other comes back from the fins.
As these lines move, they move closer together, as shown in the reference image. Towards the end of these lines, you can then add flippers to the end. It will have two dots sticking out with a depression in the middle.
Make sure you follow the reference image closely as you draw so you can stay aware of it to Draw An Orca!
Step 4
We’ve already mentioned that the orca is an apex predator and wouldn’t be effective without some sharp teeth! As promised, we will add some at this stage of drawing the orca.
This step will be much easier if you use a fine-tipped ballpoint pen or a sharp pencil. This is because the details of the teeth will be very small and intricate.
When you’re done, draw small triangular shapes along the top edge of the mouth. Once you’ve drawn them, add some shading near the back of the mouth to Draw An Orca.
Finally, we will draw attention to the killer whale. This eye will be quite small and near the corner of the mouth. Then you are ready for the finishing touches in the next step!
Step 5
For this step of our guide on drawing a killer whale, we will finish with some details of the model.
You can draw a rounded shape similar to a soccer ball near the head and then draw larger shapes near the body’s base.
Once you’ve added these details, you’re ready for the final step! Before proceeding, you can also add some personal information to Draw An Orca.
An idea for this would be to draw a background with more fish or marine life swimming around this orca.
Step 6
Killer whales aren’t exactly known for being the most colourful creatures, having a striking but simple black-and-white colour scheme.
We used this in our reference image to give it a more realistic look, but there are many ways to change this.
You can use your favourite bright colours for a more stylish image or experiment with colours for the background to Draw An Orca.
Another way to keep colours more dynamic is to use different artistic mediums. Maybe you could give the killer whale or the background a softer look with some watercolours or coloured pencils.
